Hi Friends!

Fall is here and the festivities have begun! This month, we had the great privilege of recognizing Madison's Miracles as part of the Healthy Start family and continuing the legacy of sweet baby Madison as well as her family with the 6th Annual Remembrance Walk & Run. Be sure to join us and help us honor all the angel babies lost far too soon.

In case you missed it, our 2022 Dancing with the Martin Stars event was a record-breaker! We had a sold-out show raising over $200,000. Check out more about the event and view the photos in the section below.

Halloween must have come early because we had a special trick-or-treater stop by. Dr. Singh, President of Cleveland Clinic Martin North and South Hospital, one of our special partners, visited us last week. Keep reading to find out what was discussed.

On the topic of Halloween, we have lots of precious "pumpkids" on the way, and we need your help with our Little Pumpkins Diaper Drive! Scroll down to see all the different ways you can donate to ensure these families have all they need to welcome their newborns.

Sincerely,

Your friends at Healthy Start
Welcome to the Family!
Madison's Miracles is now part of Healthy Start
A loss during pregnancy or the first year of life is an unfathomable tragedy for a family. Here at Healthy Start, this tragedy is deeply felt as our mission is to ensure that every baby is born healthy.

October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness month, during which we remember the babies who are gone far too soon.

Over the past 6 years, we’ve developed a strong partnership with Madison’s Miracles as a resource to support our grieving families, and it is with great privilege that we share that Madison’s Miracles is now a program of Martin County Healthy Start Coalition.

The founders of Madison’s Miracles, Chris and Christina Stamper, are moving away from Martin County, but they felt compelled to keep the legacy of their sweet Madison here where she was born.

The board of directors from both organizations, with the blessing of Madison’s Miracles' Angel Families, agreed that our missions are closely aligned. Considering that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in grief, oftentimes, those families are already enrolled in our services or enroll in our services when they get their precious rainbow baby.

Healthy Start is so honored to carry on the legacy of Madison’s Miracles for Chris and Christina as we are dedicated to helping families and recognizing the memories of all babies.

We are also so excited to host the 6th Annual Remembrance Walk for Babies Gone Too Soon this year. Please join us Saturday, November 19 at 7:30 a.m. at Memorial Park for a 5K run or 1-mile walk. To register, click here.
2022 Dancing with the Martin Stars
Raises Over $200,000!
If Len Goodman, one of the judges from the popular Dancing with the Stars television series, had attended our local Dancing with the Martin Stars event he surely would have given it a 10 out of 10!

The event was a resounding success, raising over $200,000. Thanks to the hard work of all the dancers and their supporters, these funds will go towards essential programs in Martin County that help ensure every baby is born healthy, every mother is supported, and every father is involved.

There were several award winners in a variety of categories:
  • First Runner-Up Dance Team: Jessica Alvarez and Michael Chaves, with a score of 29.
  • First Runner-Up Fundraising Team: Rio Ratermanis and Marianella Tobar, raising $27,234.
  • Top Dancing Team: Natalie Desmangles and Brian Spector, with a perfect score of 30.
  • Top Fundraising Team: Donna DeMarchi and Bob Murray, raising $38,131.
  • Overall Champion Team: Natalie Desmangles and Brian Spector.

Cleveland Clinic President Visits Healthy Start
Hi, Dr. Singh!
Dr. Rishi Singh, the newest President of Cleveland Clinic Martin North and South Hospital, visited Healthy Start’s office this month! We discussed how Cleveland Clinic and Healthy Start work together to serve our moms, babies and their families as well as ways to further deepen our relationship to ensure every single baby in Martin County is born healthy.
Precious Pumpkins
Newborn Diapers Needed
We have a large, unexpected number of newborn babies due through the end of the year, and we are running low on newborn-sized diapers!

Although babies grow out of size newborn pretty quickly, newborn babies can go through 20 or more diapers a day. For just the first 2 months of life, that’s 1,200 diapers!

If you’re able, please consider donating to our Little Pumpkins Diaper Drive. This will run through October 31, and anyone can stop by the office to drop off items on Mondays or Thursdays from 9am - 5pm.

Ordering from our AmazonSmile list and having them delivered directly to the office is also a great option.

We are so grateful for our community!
