Our quarterly meetings feature guest speakers on a variety of topics, from adoption services to domestic abuse and mental health. Coalition members come together from all areas of Martin County with the common cause of ensuring positive birth outcomes for all women and children in Martin County.
The coalition also serves to develop our five-year strategic plan and advocates for maternal and child health policies with our elected official on a voluntary basis.

Volunteers bring their hearts and their skills to help the mothers, babies and families we serve.
Volunteers help keep our diaper bank organized, cleaned and stocked. They help in Ellie's Boutique, sorting baby items, hanging clothes and keeping the boutique looking clean and beautiful. And they share their passion for healthy mothers and healthy babies.
Advocating for women, babies, families, and the services and funding needed to support them is an ongoing challenge.
This is especially true when we look at the challenge of disparity.
Nationally, Black women are three times as likely as White women to die from pregnancy-related causes. Why? Limited access to health care, lack of material and child education, economic disparities, and system and social racism within some of our health and social services.
